PUT THE BEAT
Put the beat
on important words
and pound it
into them,
the old monk told the poet.

THERE IS
There is the beat
and the off-
beat and two, three, four,
the old monk told the band.
~
IF YOU'RE SPINNING
If you're spinning a lot of saucers
you don't want to be bothered
is how I understand it,
the old monk said.
