THREE OLD MONK POEMS (371)

YOU CAN DRIVE

You can drive a big car
when people stay

away from it,
the old monk said.

Even so, the truck driver
has the right of way.

~

IT TAKES OFF

It takes off when
the wind picks up

and who knows
where it lands,

the old monk said.

~

YOU ALWAYS COME

You always come when you want something.
Why don't you ever come when you don't,
the old monk asked.
