THREE OLD MONK POEMS (103)

YOU DON'T

You don't
want to

but you
do it --

duty,
the old

monk says.

~

IF YOU SAY

If you say that's
just a dollar,

someone will think
it's a deal

and will take it,
the old monk says.

~

WHEN YOU SAY

When you say
you've crossed that bridge,

does that mean
you can't go back,

the old monk asked.
