HOW MANY TIMES
How many times
can you go
up the mountain
before you can't
come back down.
The old monk
wouldn't tell.

THAT WALKING STICK
That walking stick
is kind of like mine,
the old monk said,
only not so wobbly.

A PROMISE
A promise
not to promise
is not a promise,
the old monk said.
