SEASON'S TURN
Once again time entered
without knocking. Summer
turned to autumn before
we knew. We felt it
in our bones, another
year disappearing and
we didn't see it go.
The darkened house empties
and we burrow deeper
into shelter, a warmer
place to wait for this
winter which is left us.
