I CAN STAY BUT / A MOMENT
I can stay but
a moment in
all those lives I've
glimpsed. Some were saints,
some were sinners,
some are still to
find their place. It's
as if I'm on
a train rumbling
past and they are
in their kitchens
making supper,
in their bedrooms
making love. All
I can say is
this: I saw you
and I heard you
and I love you.
